    Nicholas Wyman

    Nicholas Wyman is a workforce development and apprenticeship expert, speaker and author who applies real-world solutions to the challenges companies face in finding skilled employees. He is Co-founder and CEO of the Skilling Australia Foundation and CEO of the Institute for Workplace Skills and Innovation that develops mentoring programs for various corporations in Australia, the USA, UK, China and Singapore which employs 700 people in skilled occupations. Nicholas works in partnership with schools, industry, community organisations and government to cultivate alternative pathways to employment, continual skills development with a strong focus on school to work transition. His work debunks the notion that a traditional university/college degree is “for everyone” and explores practical avenues to satisfying, well-paying skilled careers for individuals at any stage of life. Nicholas is a regular media commentator on workforce development whose articles and interviews have appeared in various industry journals and in mainstream media such as PBS. Nicholas is a Winston-Churchill Memorial Fellow and has completed research on school to work transition and social status of skilled careers encompassing Germany, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, USA, Australia and the UK. He established South East Asia’s first Mentored Apprenticeship Program and advises on Vocational Education Policy. He is on the Advisory Board of the American Institute for Innovative Apprenticeship in Washington, DC. He has an MBA and studied at Harvard Business School and the Hauser Center at the Harvard Kennedy School. His new book, Job U, is a practical guide exploring affordable and unconventional pathways to building a rewarding careers. Job U is being published by Crown Business, a division of Penguin Random House. Nicholas joined the Penguin Random House Speakers Bureau in 2014.
